clampedLAMP is a light fitting - teaser. It is made of retro jars with their classical closing system with glass cap and metal clip for fastening. We replaced the glass cover with specially crafted detail on which LED bulb is mounted and for closing we applied the traditional manner. This type of jars, gaining popularity in the last century and becoming a symbol of homemade canned food were invented in 1882 by William Henry Patman in Bennington, Vermont. They became popular because unlike the then used jars with metal caps, they do not let the food inside have contact with the metal. They are known as “lightning jars" due to the speed with which the clamp mechanism opens and closes.
